Kyle Sauers‚ Senior Vice President‚ Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Sauers joined BIR as Chief Financial Officer during 2005. He is responsible for all financial operations of the company and is a member of the Board of Directors. During his career‚ Kyle has successfully established accounting and finance organizations for early stage high-growth companies‚ raising significant debt and equity financing. He has managed all aspects of financial planning‚ risk management‚ corporate governance and compliance‚ human resources and management information systems.

Prior to BIR‚ Kyle spent eight years at Sphere Communications‚ a leading VoIP software technology company. As Chief Financial Officer‚ he was part of a management team that led the pre-revenue company from concept to market acceptance and significant financial success.  Before Sphere‚ Kyle held financial management positions at APAC Customer Services‚ a provider of outsourced customer care and acquisition services. He began his career as part of the Audit and Business Advisory Practice at Arthur Andersen‚ where he served entrepreneurial and middle market companies.

Kyle graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant.

David Nisius‚ PhD‚ Vice President Technology

Dr. Nisius is currently responsible for project management‚ engineering‚ software development‚ and detector development at BIR. He joined BIR in 1998 as a nuclear physicist. 

David previously served as Program Officer for overseeing all aspects of commercial and government‚ industrial and security projects‚ including the IntellX™ Cargo Container Inspection System recently purchased by the US Department of Homeland Security/Customs and Border Patrol. Prior to that‚ he was Project Manager of the Waste Inspection Tomography program jointly operated by BIR and the Department of Energy to characterize nuclear waste stored at DOE sites. 

David held a post doctoral position at Argonne National Laboratories before joining BIR and has a PhD in Physics from Purdue University. He is a member of the American Physical Society‚ American Nuclear Society‚ and the American Society for Testing and Materials.

David Podraza‚ Vice President Manufacturing

Mr. Podraza joined BIR in 1984. His superior organizational and technical skills were recognized early enabling him to advance professionally in BIR’s manufacturing group. With over 22 years of experience in the manufacturing environment‚ he currently is responsible for coordinating all aspects of BIR operations.

David’s responsibilities encompass coordinating and scheduling of the manufacturing department‚ including manufacturing engineering‚ electronic and mechanical assembly‚ system integration‚ metal fabrication‚ production outsourcing‚ and associated staffing. He is also responsible for documentation control as well as shipping and receiving. 

David has an AS degree from DeVry University‚ Chicago.

  

Maryanne Janus‚ Vice President Administration

Ms. Janus joined BIR in 1989. She currently holds the positions of Vice President of Administration. In addition‚ as Corporate Secretary‚ Maryanne maintains the stock records and facilitates communications between BIR’s senior management‚ stockholders and Board of Directors. She also manages relationships with contractors‚ municipal agencies and vendors on issues relating to BIR’s two locations in Lincolnshire and nearby Vernon Hills‚ as well as patent liaison between BIR inventors‚ clients and legal counsel.

Prior to joining BIR‚ Maryanne worked as a project manager in the construction industry for 9 years‚ coordinating the efforts of architects‚ trade union workers and owners to design and build office environments for companies such as Baxter International and Kraft.

Maryanne is currently pursuing a BA in Management from Roosevelt University and received her CPS certification from Robert Morris University.
